Racial wealth divides in the United States, especially between black and white Americans, are stark. For each dollar in wealth held by white households, black households hold less than seven cents. These divides even hold across income levels – a 2015 report found that for every $1 of wealth that the median black household with a college degree holds, a similar white household would hold more than $11 of wealth.
